Texas-based progressive metalcore outfit, FERVENCE, are pleased to present a video for “Oculum.” The track appears on their stunning new full-length, Constructs, out now on Metal Blade Records.

Comments founding guitarist Trent Odneal, “This song draws a lot of inspiration from the grittiness in Deftones’ self-titled album. I really tried to make it feel dark, abrasive, human if you will, while maintaining a cinematic undertone, without overdoing it.”

Inspired by bands like Deftones, Architects, and Silent Planet, the FERVENCE sound is an ethereal blend of harsh and lush, navigating between moments of sheer aggression and poignant vulnerability. Formed in 2019 in Reno, Nevada as Odneal’s solo project, FERVENCE released its debut full-length, Ghost, in 2020. The recording was called an “emotionally laden and hard-hitting record that contemplates what it is to be human.”

The band reemerged in 2023 with vocalist Stevie B. at the helm, bringing her unique brand of aggression to the project. FERVENCE toured the West Coast, continuing to build their local following in Reno opening for the likes of Otep, Left To Suffer, and Gideon, and releasing four singles that would make up their second offering, an EP titled Realm//One which was praised for “breaking so many rules in metal.“

On Constructs, the quintet’s Metal Blade debut, FERVENCE delivers eleven dynamic songs that explore, both musically and lyrically, deeply personal experiences surrounding life, death, emotion, and relationships. Now based in Austin, Texas, the band spent 2025 crafting their most fully realized songs to date. Writing post-Ghost, Odneal made a conscious effort to leave more space for the vocals to explore melodies and focused on composition, mood, song structure, and building up to big choruses.

Constructs was produced by Odneal and Bentley and mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren. The record was released on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in the following color variants:

Pearl Bone Marble (US)
Shimmer Gold + Black Marble (US)
Royalty Metallic Marbled (EU)

“Their sound is striking, haunting, and wonderfully evocative in a way that continues to surprise. It’s progressive in scope, with songs that find ways to sink their claws with immediacy and in an enduring capacity. Think Deftones, Fallujah, and Silent Planet collaborating, and you’re on the right track.” – New Noise Magazine

“…the type of album that people who yearn for new approaches and angles tend to champion. FERVENCE has a sound that will feel remarkably heavy and modern yet without an easy ‘box’ to put them in, and it also goes for a deeper emotional feeling that only builds with more listens.” – Dead Rhetoric

“The song dynamics are less about melting faces and more about holding on to them with a vice-like grip. Lyrically deep and powerfully delivered Constructs’hits home with unwavering accuracy.” – Devolution Magazine

“…a definite contender for Album of the Year… Constructs is about the beauty and devastation of realizing that everything we build as people, including things like our identities, relationships, and ambitions, is temporary. These notions are expressed through a sound that moves between vulnerability and violence, comfort and distress, and despair with moments of hope.” – Metal Temple

“It is a blend of modern metalcore, progressive elements, and atmospheric passages, allowing the band to frequently deliver surprising moments… this album never has a dull moment” – Aardschok

“… a massive album…” – Rock Tribune

“Vocalist Stevie B. gives her all on the album. Her super impressive range of vocal dynamics hits us with full-on guttural screams one minute and haunting ethereal melodies the next… she’s a force to be reckoned with on stage too… the musicianship on display here is superb…a very well-written and produced album by a band that has definitely hit their stride.” – RPM

“The production – modern and polished yet incredibly organic – allows every nuance to shine through, giving the drums a full, commanding sound and highlighting the bass during the heaviest grooves. FERVENCE demonstrates that they have absorbed the lessons of modern progressive metal and metalcore masters, reimagining them with overflowing personality and rare freshness. It is a solid, ferocious, and no-nonsense work that demands to be played at maximum volume.” – Suffissocore.com

“…a really strong album from FERVENCE, offering a great blend of atmosphere, melody, and energy.” – Metalized
