Iron Maiden Add a Final 2027 North American Chapter to Run For Your Lives

Iron Maiden have added an unexpected final North American chapter to the Run For Your Lives tour. In an official announcement dated 16 October 2026, the band confirmed 16 spring 2027 shows across the United States and Canada, extending a fiftieth-anniversary campaign that had previously appeared ready to close.

The route begins on 14 April at Tacoma Dome and runs through a 16 May headline appearance at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Maryland. Between those points, the schedule moves through Vancouver, Portland, California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Connecticut and New York, before two festival finales at Sonic Temple and Boardwalk Rock.

A return shaped by the places the tour missed

The decision is less a conventional second lap than a deliberate attempt to reach regions absent from the recent itinerary. Steve Harris said the group reconsidered its plan to step back from live performances in 2027 after the response to the latest US and Canadian shows. The new leg therefore focuses particularly on the North West and South East, while preserving the production and set concept built for the anniversary tour.

That distinction matters. Run For Your Lives is designed as a concentrated journey through the band’s first decades rather than a generic greatest-hits package. The staging, imagery and song choices treat the catalogue as a living archive. Extending the tour means extending that specific anniversary narrative, not simply adding another series of dates under a familiar logo.

Sixteen shows and an all-British bill

Bullet For My Valentine will join the tour as special guests, with The Raven Age opening the shows. Iron Maiden note that this will be their first three-band British touring bill in North America since 1983. It is a neat historical echo for a tour already built around the group’s early years and the evolution of its visual and musical language.

The two festival dates give the run a different ending. Sonic Temple in Columbus and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City will place the show before broader festival audiences, not only dedicated Maiden ticket holders. For a production rooted in deep catalogue material and theatrical continuity, that is a useful test of how strongly the anniversary concept communicates beyond the core fan base.

The final leg has a clear deadline

The band’s announcement is unusually explicit: these are intended to be the last dates of the Run For Your Lives tour. By its conclusion, the production is expected to have played 107 shows in 36 countries for more than three million people. Those figures are part of the band’s own projection and should be read as the planned scale of the completed tour.

Fan-club presales begin on 19 October 2026 at 10:00 local time for each market, with additional presales during the week. General sales begin on 23 October at 10:00 local time. Festival ticketing follows the respective Sonic Temple and Boardwalk Rock channels.

Why this extension feels consequential

For Iron Maiden, longevity has never meant freezing the live show in place. The band repeatedly rebuilds its stage language around a particular era, album or narrative frame. This extension preserves that approach while acknowledging a practical truth: even a large North American tour leaves major regions untouched.

The 2027 dates also arrive after the band’s 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, but the announcement does not frame the shows as a museum piece. The emphasis is still on the encounter between songs, production and audience. That is the central strength of the anniversary cycle: history is not presented behind glass; it is placed under lights, amplified and made physical again.

For fans in the cities added to the map, the message is simple. The final chapter was not originally planned, but it now has a defined route, a British support package and a closing pair of festival stages. After that, Run For Your Lives is meant to end.
