Today, COGNITIVE shared the news of an upcoming headlining North American tour with support from Trenchlung!
The bone-shattering New Jersey death metal elites have been teasing fans with the news of an upcoming album since last year and today, alongside the tour announcement, they confirm that it is in fact ready, coming soon, and the details are just around the corner!

On the upcoming tour, guitarist Rob Wharton comments:
“At last! After finishing our tour cycle for our last release, we had taken some time off to record our new Metal Blade album, music videos, content, recharge our batteries, and now it’s time to hit the road again. We wanted to hit the road when our new single drops, so we figured we would make our way up to Canada for the special occasion and take our dissonant pals in Trenchlung out for a small run of shows. We will be playing 2 new songs off our upcoming record, so we figured it was time to get our feet wet again in preparation for the rest of the year’s tour plans. We hope to see you at a show, and keep your eyes and ears peeled for the new album announcement!!“
Last year, the band released the stand alone single ‘Rot Eternal‘ (check out the video here) and began teasing a new COGNITIVE album on the horizon, commenting at the time that: “Rot Eternal was the second song written for our upcoming album, and when we did our pre-production recording we kept coming back to the song and saying ‘man this is like, REALLY awesome.’ We hope you all enjoy this stand alone single, and keep an eye out for the new record next year!“
COGNITIVE‘s upcoming headlining North American tour will kick off on March 28th at The Mona Lisa in Brooklyn, NY and stop in Salem, MA before moving further north into Canada where the band will tour through Quebec and Ontario and close out with one last USA stop in Corning, NY on April 05th at Marconi Lounge. Support will be provided by Trenchlung at all Canadian shows. The band will then head overseas to hit the road with PaRtY-CaNnOn kicking off on May 3rd in Hamburg, Germany and wrapping up on May 18th in the Netherlands – all dates listed below!

MORE ABOUT COGNITIVE:
After releasing an EP and full length, COGNITIVE signed to Unique Leader Records in 2016 and released their album Deformity, which showed the bands dedication to their craft within a tale about their home states own legend about the Jersey Devil. Ramping up their tour schedule, the band continued to write and push themselves within the genre with technicality, speed, brutality, and songwriting, which came to shine through even more on the 2018 release Matricide, which displayed more focused effort while increasing speed and technicality even more. The band wasted no time in their touring schedule and hit the road supporting Fit for an Autopsy, Rivers of Nihil, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Vulvodynia, Lorna Shore and others, along with an appearance at Maryland Deathfest. COGNITIVE has become a touring machine with one goal in mind – always move forward.
With the release of their latest album Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction (2022), the band has displayed more diversity and song writing more than ever and proves yet again they are never scared to explore new concepts musically and explore new territory.
